The blocktime of Dogecoin is 1 minute. In comparaison, Bitcoin's blocktime is 10 minutes. In other words, Dogecoin produces 10 times more blocks than Bitcoin. Therefore, to keep the file sizes reasonably small, the data for Dogecoin is split into several smaller files
